Common Ingredients in Anti Wrinkle Creams

Growing old is always a dreaded thing. To lose all your teeth, wrinkles on your face, to depend on someone else to look after you is scary. Nothing much can be done to prevent that, but yes something can be done to make you look beautiful even as you grow old. Anti wrinkle creams are such creams that have been designed to reduce the appearance of aging. There are various creams to suit different needs. There are different creams for women in their thirties and for those who are over fifties.

There are creams just for certain areas of the face like the eye area etc. However these anti wrinkle creams do not remove the wrinkles, they merely remove the dead skin and makes the skin look more firm. The overall effect is such that the appearance of the wrinkles is considerably removed.

VITAMINS- Vitamin E is very good for the skin along with Vitamin C and Vitamin A. retinol which is found in Vitamin A is an antioxidant and is often used in anti wrinkle creams. Vitamin C is not only an antioxidant it also increases the effectiveness of the vitamin E.

TRETINOIN (or RETIN-A) – Its effects are the same as that of vitamin A. It can even treat acne and sun damage.

HYDROXY ACIDS (which includes ALPPHA HYDROXY ACIDS<BETA HYDROXY ACIDS and POLY HYDROXY ACIDS) -These acids are similar to the acids found in fruits but synthetic in nature. They are useful in removing the upper layer of old dead skin and stimulating the growth of new skin.

ALPHA LIPOIC ACID ( ALA)- It neutralizes free radicals and acts as an antioxidant. It even augments the effect of other antioxidants and exfoliates dead skin.

COENZYME Q-10- it functions more as prevention to wrinkles. It regulates the cells' energy production and protects skin from sun damage.

COPPER PEPTIDES-. These are found in the skin cells and help in healing wounds.
KINETIN- this helps in stimulating the production of collagen and thus retains the moisture of the skin.

ISOFLAVONES – Extracts of soy contain isoflavones and they have similar effect like the estrogen. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and age spots.

GREEN TEA EXTRACTS: it works as an antioxidant and can repair skin damages too. It also prevents further skin damage and anti-inflammatory.

DMAE- Fishes like anchovies and sardines are known to have this substance and it is known to tone the skin and tighten it and thus reduce aging.
